From being hired on the spot at the age of 17 by his childhood artistic hero, Neal Adams, to becoming a full advertising art director for ABC television at McCaffrey and McCall Advertising without a portfolio, to becoming the entire art department at Abrams / Gentile Entertainment, among other major career events, Louis has beaten serious odds and made his way through to his dream job of becoming a senior artist for Sesame Street at Sesame Workshop!
But this dream revealed the true dream and the bigger vision of what he is really here to accomplish. With over 30 years of vast creative experience Louis brings the love, enthusiasm and excellence that honors those who encouraged him to evolve onto the path of his purpose in life. With this he reaches out to help other artists and creative people shake the fear of being freely creative and rise to the occasion of their own creative genius. So Louis started The Spiritstorm School. Its foundation curriculum is entitled Qreative Evolution and the defining statement behind it is;
THE INTIMATE PRACTICE OF CREATIVE FULFILLMENT THROUGH GUIDED SELF-EDUCATION
Through this curriculum Louis reveals parts of his biography as evidence and support of why he so strongly believes in the triumphant creative spirit. Louis taught for nearly half a decade at the School of Visual Arts, and continued his teaching to students the Parsons School and to many artists in the United States and around the world through Sesame Workshop.
Louis discovered that it was time to bring about his vision for an art school that would be an independent and radical teaching for artists of all levels; from novice to professional. In order to establish his vision for creative excellence is demonstrated through the principles taught at The Spiritstorm School. Among the many projects in development are a children’s self-esteem project involving books, animation and puppetry, a graphic novel series, a full-length, traditionally animated feature film and a “jazz/rock opera”.
Louis is committed to supporting children with Autism, their families and their teachers. He is also an advocate for all children as well as for animals, especially dogs. He is in the process of establishing a foundation to assist in these causes through The Spiritstorm School.
Louis lives in the truth that you cannot teach anyone how to be an artist. You can, however, guide, encourage and mentor them into a spiritual, mental and physical state of creative freedom that can launch them into living their true and unique purpose.
